Abstract:
Each of the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria is plagued by different forms of insecurity. This paper is focused on demystifying the numerous causes of insecurity in the most populous black nation, identifying the residual effects of the menace of insecurity on Nigeria, her citizenry and her image in the international community. This paper further explored the recommendation of the Quran, prophetic traditions towards the attainment of sustenance in faith, politics and policy making. It also critically reviewed the prescription and consensus of eminent scholars on the prophylactic measures to put in place in view of insecurity
