Abstract:
Religion and Politics seems to be two different entities but could not be totally separated from one another. Religion has been taken an important position in Politics while politics could not do away with religion. This paper seeks to explain the role of religion in Politics with emphases on the view of Islam on political matters as demonstrated by the Prophet of Islam and his successors. It discusses among other things, the relationship between religion and politics, Islamic Political theories and ideologies for polish politics, impacts of religion on sustainable political development. The concluding part of the paper centers on summary and recommendations in form of suggestions.
