Abstract: Islamic education is parts of the mainstream of educational system in Nigeria. Nigeria has developed into one of the important education with three systems of education Quranic and ilm schools, modernized Arabic schools and public and private Western schools. This paper examines the roles of Islamic education on Muslim unity in Nigeria. However, in spite of the feats attained by Islamic education, it is nevertheless hindered by some factors, especially financial obstacle. It concludes with recommendations towards promoting Muslim unity through Islamic education.
